CAPLAN

Holstein, chestnut, 1.73 m, 1999, line 429

fokker / breeder E.H. Lütje, Haseldorf (D)

This remarkable chestnut with light main and tale is a real eyecatcher. The extremely talented Caplan was one of the most remarkable stallions in the free jumping at the Holstein stallion selections of 2001 where he was licensed. Caplan therefore was awarded with the highest possible notes for jumping. Caplan has a very harmonious and rich conformation with very sound bone structure. His basic gaits are good and his jumping is characterised by drive, carefulness, plenty of
ability and with unusually quick reflexes.
He was Qualified in Borken for the German championships 2003 and won his first show in Kirchhellen 2004. Caplan will be prepared for the German Championships by our rider Ulrich
Kirchhoff. Caplan descends from the great sire Carolus I, which together with Cassini I, Carthago and Cento is one of the best Capitol I sons.
The dam of Caplan is an awarded mare called Elisa (by Landgraf I). She is from a famous line of horses (‘stem 429’). This line produced many successful showjumpers and stallions such as: Lorenz (Ladykiller xx), Magister (Mephisto), Heidelberg (Ladykiller xx) and Aldatus.
Caplan is very closely related to the stallion Aldato (Anblick xx), which is known as dam’s sire of the above-mentioned stallion Landgraf I. His dam’s sire Landgraf I (Ladykiller xx x Aldato) is one of the most successful show jumper upgraders of the twentieth century. Progeny such as Libero H, Taggi, Freestyle, Lucky Luke and Lacros ensure that show jumper breeding of today was greatly enhanced without Landgraf I. Caplan’s progeny are remarkable: they combine quality with beautiful
conformation. Last year one of his foals was 4th at Sangersheide 2004 and Summertime was honoured with the title of foal champion of Elmshorn (Holstein). Caplan’s son; Cannavaro Top will be prepared for the German Championships 2009 by our rider Ulrich Kirchhof
